Dr. Guzzetta’s clinical expertise is in the anesthetic care of children with congenital heart disease presenting for cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization procedures and non-cardiac surgeries. She trains residents and fellows in how to provide anesthesia for these patients. She also conducts extensive clinical research in this area primarily focusing on effective anticoagulation for cardiopulmonary bypass and the management of bleeding after cardiopulmonary bypass. Dr. Guzzetta is on the Board of Directors of the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society and currently serves as president.
