Dr. Yu is the O. Wayne Rollins Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Hematology/Oncology. He has served in NIH and AHA study sections for several terms and in editorial boards of several national and international journals. He is an expert in the investigation of ionic and molecular mechanisms of neuronal cell death and stem cell differentiation. His research includes the development of novel therapies for stroke, cancer and pain.
